Yasmin Lawyers Are Fighting for Victims of Birth Control Adverse Effects
Yasmin lawyers have already driven many
lawsuits against the pharmaceutical company Bayer. For anyone who has
suffered from taking YAZ or its older, higher-dose counterpart
Yasmin, adverse effects can be potentially life-threatening. YAZ
class action lawsuits are based on a number of different accusations.
They allege that Bayer failed to properly warn about the potential
risks, as well as to adequately test and research the drugs before
releasing them into the marketplace—not to mention a failure to
remove the medication from the market once the adverse effects were
apparent. Yasmin lawyers have also filed claims
demanding compensation in relation to false advertising. However,
these class actions may be too late for those who were convinced to
use the product after seeing ads that promised benefits such as
clearer skin and less severe premenstrual syndrome. Unique to Bayer’s versions and the
generic Ocella, the dangerous component is mostly likely
drospirenone, a synthetic variety of the hormone progestin. This
potentially dangerous hormone is not included in any other
contraceptive currently approved in the United States. Yasmin lawyers encourage women who have
been diagnosed with certain serious health problems after taking one
of these pills to seek legal advice. YAZ birth control pill side
effects include: Blood clots in the legs
(thrombophlebitis), lungs (pulmonary embolism), blockage or rupture
of a blood vessel in the brain (stroke), blockage of blood vessels
in the heart (heart attack and angina pectoris) or other organs of
the body Liver tumors, which may rupture
and cause severe bleeding High blood pressure Cancer of the breast*
*Note: Various studies give
conflicting reports on the relationship between breast cancer and
oral contraceptive use. Over 50 fatalities related to the pills
have been reported to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA),
including victims as young as 17 years old. As such, you should
immediately consult your physician if you experience: Sharp chest pain, coughing of
blood, or sudden shortness of breath (indicating a possible clot in
the lung) Pain in the calf (could mean a
clot in the leg) Crushing chest pain or heaviness
in the chest (possibly indicating a heart attack) Sudden severe headache or
vomiting, dizziness or fainting, disturbances of vision or speech,
weakness, or numbness in an arm or leg (could mean a stroke) Sudden partial or complete loss of
vision (could mean a clot in the eye) Breast lumps (indicating possible
breast cancer or fibrocystic disease of the breast; ask your doctor
or healthcare provider to show you how to examine your breasts) Severe pain or tenderness in the
stomach area (could mean a ruptured liver tumor) Difficulty in sleeping, weakness,
lack of energy, fatigue, or change in mood (possibly indicating
severe depression) Jaundice or a yellowing of the
skin or eyeballs, accompanied frequently by fever, fatigue, loss of
appetite, dark-colored urine, or light-colored bowel movements
(indicating possible liver problems)
A number of suits have been filed, and
these may be consolidated in order to coordinate pretrial
proceedings. Many different firms are representing plaintiffs to help
them receive proper compensations. Consolidation will help avoid
inconsistent pretrial rulings and repetitious discovery.
