How We Gather Information from Users
How Legal Tube collects and stores information depends on the page you are viewing, the portions of the page you choose to access and the services provided. For example, you may be asked to provide information when requesting further information from one of our affiliates regarding an issue of legal concern, or when you participate in other activities on the site.
Legal Tube, like most websites, also collects information automatically and through the use of electronic tools that may be transparent to our visitors. For example, we may log the name of your Internet Service Provider or use cookie technology to recognize you and hold information from your visit.
The cookie may store your user name and password, eliminating the need to re-enter that information each time you visit, or may control the number of times you see a particular advertisement while visiting our site. As we implement additional technology, information may be gathered via other means.
It is possible in some cases to set your web browser to refuse to accept cookies, and thus decline to provide us with this information. However, this may limit your ability to access certain portions of the site, or require you to re-enter your user name and password upon return to the site. It may also restrict our ability to customize the site to your preferences in some ways.
What We Do With the Information We Collect
Legal Tube collects different types of information in an effort to enhance your visit and to deliver content tailored to your individual needs and interests as a consumer. Some of this information is deemed Personally Identifiable Information; another type is known as Aggregate Information.
Aggregate Information does not personally identify you, and may be used in a number of ways. For example, we may combine information about your usage patterns, along with that of other users, to improve our site and services offered. Aggregate Information may occasionally be shared with our advertisers and business partners. Again, this information does not include any Personally Identifiable Information about you or others.
We may use the Personally Identifiable Information collected on Legal Tube to communicate with users about:
• registration and customization preferences
• services offered by Legal Tube
• site administration or troubleshooting
• processing of e-commerce transactions
• topics we think would interest you, and other communications
Certain third parties who provide technical support to our site (our Web hosting service, for example) may access such information. In any case, your information will only be used by those parties as permitted by law.
If Legal Tube elects to sell, buy, merge, or partner with other companies or businesses, user information may be among the transferred assets.
We may also disclose your information in response to a court order or in other cases wherein we believe we are reasonably required to do so by law, such as in the collection of amounts you may owe us, and/or to law enforcement authorities when deemed appropriate or necessary. Please note that we are not required to provide you with prior notice of disclosure in such cases.
Affiliated Sites, Linked Sites and Advertisements
For example, while visiting our site you may link to, or view as a part of a frame on Legal Tube, content that is actually created or hosted by a third party. You may also be introduced to or given access to information, Web sites, features, contests or sweepstakes offered by other parties. Legal Tube is not responsible for the actions or policies of such third parties. You should check the privacy policies of those providers before providing information on a feature or page operated by a third party.
Please note that if you disclose Personally Identifiable Information in areas of the site that are visible to the public (such as message boards or chat rooms), it may be collected by third parties and result in unsolicited communication or marketing from others. Such activity is beyond the control of Legal Tube and this policy.
Legal Tube never knowingly collects personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have information on a child under this age, it is deleted from our system. You can help your children to be safe online and to guard their identities in the following ways:
• Warn children never to give personal information online, except under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. This includes their name, address, phone number, school, etc.
• Know the sites your kids are visiting and check them for appropriateness of content and safety.
• Read Web site privacy policies to know how your child’s information is handled.
• Report sites which you believe have collected and used personal information about a child under 13, or marketed to them in a way that violates federal law at www.ftc.gov/complaint or 1-877-FTC-HELP.
Changes to this Policy
Legal Tube reserves the right to revise this policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for updates or revisions. Your continued use of the site after a change in policy will be deemed an acceptance of the changes. However, information collected prior to such a change will be subject to the laws and policies in effect at the time of collection.
If mediation fails to produce a mutually satisfactory resolution, Legal Tube agrees to submit the dispute to binding arbitration in the following location: Birmingham, Alabama, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitration may be entered in any court with jurisdiction to do so.
Legal Tube is controlled, operated, and administered entirely within Alabama. This statement and the policies outlined herein are not intended to and do not create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party
